What We Do

Scotia Marine Surveying Ltd is based in Halifax and services all of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI with high quality in-depth marine surveys. Have your boat or prospective boat properly inspected by a Transport Canada licensed 1st class marine engineer and ABYC standards technician. All surveys will use Transport Canada and ABYC standards as a benchmark. Offering surveys on fishing boats, pleasure boats (motor and sail) as well as small commercial vessels.

    About Me

    In my 17 year career I’ve worked as Engineer on sailboats (Bluenose 2), Fishing vessels, Tug and Barge, Cruise ships, Offshore Oil and Gas and Passenger Ferries.

    As Chief Engineer I’ve been in charge of all systems on the vessel directing a crew of up to 20 men and women to operate and maintain the vessel safe and efficiently. I’ve also been in charge and part of many large projects, dry dockings, sea trials, refits and new builds. I’ve worked with large insurance companies and port state control to make sure vessel’s meet statutory requirements.
